Role Description
The CCM Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the Continuous Casting Machine during their shift. This role supervises CCM operators and helpers, coordinates with the LRF, Furnace, and Maintenance teams, ensures billets meet quality and dimensional requirements, and maintains smooth production flow while enforcing safety and operational discipline.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in CCM operations, including previous supervisory or lead experience.
- Strong knowledge of continuous casting processes, mold and cooling systems, and billet quality control.
- Ability to lead a shift crew, make operational decisions quickly, and solve technical problems.
- Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of furnace, LRF, and material handling processes in steel production.
- Physically capable of working in high-temperature, heavy industrial environments.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise safe and continuous operation of the CCM during the shift.
- Lead, guide, and support CCM operators and helpers, allocating tasks and ensuring operational discipline.
- Monitor molten steel flow, mold level, cooling system, and casting parameters.
- Coordinate billet transfer with LRF and Furnace teams to maintain smooth production.
- Ensure billets meet metallurgical, dimensional, and surface quality requirements.
- Respond to emergencies, equipment failures, and production issues promptly.
- Report production status, delays, quality issues, and incidents to the Production Manager or Foreman.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities with the Maintenance team.
- Ensure proper documentation of shift data, including casting speeds, billets produced, and delays.
- Enforce safety rules, PPE usage, and housekeeping in the CCM area.
- Train and mentor CCM operators on operational best practices and safety procedures.
