Cooperate with all PPC hands at the worksite and to supervise PPC equipment personnel at the worksite.

External Working Relationships

To maintain a good business relationships with all the client’s representative/s at the work site and to provide the required data, suggestions and report to support the client’s operation at the worksite.

In coordination with the client’s representative and PPC management:

• Order/Call Out  the required chemicals
• Shaker screens
• Mix and maintain the drilling fluids in an excellent conditions & to avoid any nonproductive time that could be caused by the unavailability of the products and/or PPC’s equipment.

Job Objective

The main objective of the role is to support and assist with day-today field execution concerning drilling fluids program, well operation planning, develop best practices and technical solutions delivery on behalf of PPC.

Supervise, planning, support in coordination with PE’s will report functionally to Technical Manager. You will be accountable for field related operational requirements, equipment functionality and promotion of  products technologies.

Key   Responsibilities/Duties

• Comply with health, safety, and environment regulations in all aspects of job performance.
• Under broad direction, provide well site service to customers of Petrochem. 
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of colloidal and general chemistry, volume and hydraulics calculations and routine and specialized testing to varied field experiences. 
• Provide guidance, including facilitating formal training, to fluid service representatives on company products and services, how drilling fluid technology can optimize service quality, industry knowledge, rig schedules, and rig operations. 
• Conduct and interpret routine and specialized testing that provide technical guidance of Petrochem-s customized engineering fluids to maximize wellbore value. 
• Track material usage and maintains record of same for inventory and billing purposes.
• Follow the FIFO products list (First in First Out) & to provide the required batch numbers tracking reports. 
• Maintain good working relationship with operator's representative and rig personnel. 
• Assist the operator's representative in specific operations planning and drilling operation optimization. 
• Assist the Petrochem Project Engineers, Technical Staff and Operations staff in well planning and business delivery activities. 
• Prepare & reviews well recaps for accuracy and capture of lessons learned. 
• Mentor the return hole cleaning sweeps and report the different sweeps effect (LCM, weighted pill & High viscosity pill) on the wellbore . 
• Take an active role in mentoring Petrochem’s trainees, operator and all other PPC’s  Representatives at worksites..
• Maintain the quality, environmental and QH&S management system.
• Communicate the importance of fulfilling customer, legal and regulatory compliance requirements through periodic communication meetings.
• Provide accountability and governance to all activities related to the lifecycle of our processes and products.
• Ensure that the corporate policies are understood, implemented and maintained.
• Responsible for the quality of Petrochem Performance Chemicals LLC products and services.
• Accept the legal and moral obligations to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, a safe and healthy working environment
• Participate to the sustainability program

Mud tanks, mixing area and Shale Shakers.

Reporting any issues on the mentioned areas and offer solutions whenever it is applicable.

To make sure that the SCE testing equipment (such as G-Force meter) is available at rig site to evaluate the rig’s Solid control efficiency.

Chemicals/Products physical conditions at worksite chemicals yard

Keeping all PPC’s products covered and protected for any traffic, weather conditions.

To make sure that the products are stored in a safe & isolated place and it should be covered with tarpaulins and to be away from the rain or sun heat. Mud engineer to supervise the loading & off loading operations.

 Specialized Knowledge 

Advanced knowledge of colloidal and general chemistry, volume and hydraulics calculations and routine and specialized mud mixing and pilot testing. 

Ability & Skills

Ability: Maintain good working relationship with operator's representative and rig personnel. Assists the operator's representative in specific operations planning and drilling operation optimization. Mud engineer should be able to perform the work and maintain the optimum job’s results even at stressful condition 

Skills: Fluent in English, perfect communications skill, to be a team player to work with multinational working environment excellent  reporting system using MS office.

Experience

For Night/Junior Mud engineer: Minimum of one year experience as a mud engineer

For Day/Senior Mud engineer: Minimum of five years experience as a mud engineer

Academic Qualifications

High Diploma and/or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Geology, or engineering degree with chemical background.
